Her Stem Space

My name is Angie Yao and I am a junior at Northgate High School! I founded the Women in STEM club at my school and the Her STEM Space nonprofit to inspire girls to pursue STEM! My interests are engineering and computer science.

My name is Shriti Dham, and I’m the Vice Director! I’ve been interested in STEM since I was young, and have always loved math. I want to share my passion with more girls in my community and around the world, and expose all the different paths the world of STEM can offer!

My name is Alexandra Murray, I am a junior at Medgar Evers College Preparatory School and i’m also a student at Medgar Evers College studying Computer Science. I love STEM because it allows me to think outside the box to solve problems and I also want to break the ongoing stereotype that women aren’t fit for STEM. I am most passionate about Cybersecurity and Computer Science within STEM.

My name is Akshita Bethi, and I’m a junior at Cupertino High School! I’m passionate about art, basketball, and computer science, and I aim to inspire others by blending creativity with technology to solve real-world challenges.

Hi, my name is Olivia Bui and I am currently a freshman at California State University, Long Beach studying Molecular Cell Biology and Physiology! I love STEM as it pushes me to remain curious and explore all these different concepts that serve as building blocks while deconstructing these building blocks to discover more. Her STEM Space provides opportunities to highlight different STEM pathways and recognize notable women in STEM which I truly want to be involved in, allowing me to interact with other women interested in STEM and encouraging women that STEM will always be an option too!

Hi, my name is Julia (jul) Chen. I’m 17 years old. I attend Columbia High School & am dual-enrolled full time at Southwestern Illinois College. I’m currently in 12th grade of high school and my 2nd year of college. I’ve been interested in STEM from a young age. I’ve always been fascinated with life sciences (plant, animal, & biology), dermatology, basic computer science, science of developmental learning, and the overall science integrated into creating new solutions. I’m currently pursuing a dual-degree for business marketing and human-computer interaction. My main focus for the past year has been on the science of developmental learning for young children. I am ESL tutor for a Chinese-American 1st grader and previously tutored middle schoolers. I’m currently researching and trying out different methodologies for enriching learning experiences.

Hi, I’m Rita Karabo Dukuziyaremye from Gauteng, South Africa. As a Grade 9 student, I’m passionate about STEM because it constantly challenges my thinking and encourages me to question and seek answers to real-world problems. What drives me is the thrill of discovery, solving what I thought was unsolvable, and finishing writing a paper, only to think, “What’s next?” And that’s basically what sums me up as a person.

Patricia Harris, Michigan, Cass Technical High School, 11th grade, United States. I like STEM because it’s never a limit, there’s always something new to find whether it’s in science, technology, engineering, or math. There’s always a new equation, or design that can be made.

Hi, my name is Jasmina Marupova. I am from Staten Island, New York. I am in 11th grade at Staten Island Technical High School. I have been interested in STEM from a young age. I want to be able to improve the world through innovation and engineering. From my experience at Staten Island Technical High School, I have gained the opportunity to take many science/technology courses and participate in clubs/activities. In the future, I want to pursue a career in mechanical engineering which is why HerSTEMSpace aligns with my interests.

Hi! My name is Elicia but I go by Cici. I’m a grade 11 student in Ontario, Canada, and I go to R.S McLaughlin CVI. I’ve always been interested in STEM due to its many real world applications and its challenges! Not only that, but its continuous development makes it an interesting field to be in!

My name is Ariana Thomas and I live on Oahu, in Hawaii, USA. I go to Mililani High School and am a senior. I’ve always been interested in STEM, being that there’s a shortage of women in STEM in hawaii. I volunteer and participate in clubs (Cyber Patriots, Math team) to advocate for the next generation of HS students to explore their passions in STEM!

My name is Anastasiia Zadorozhna, I am from Ukraine, and I graduated from the high school. I love architecture and everything about art. Her Stem Space is a great resource for young women to explore and learn more about the world with people who are passionate about the same interests .

My name is Aleah Clark, I go to Northgate High School and am in my junior year. I believe it is important to show young girls that STEM is an accessible option and a fun one at that.

I’m Hailey Liu, and I’m a junior at Northgate High School. My chemistry class originally got me interested in STEM, providing me with a space to apply math, scientific concepts and problem-solving in my coursework, and now I’m very excited to share my love for it with other girls like myself!

Hello! I’m Ananya Nandakumar and I’m a student at Methacton High School. My interest in STEM roots in my obsession with Formula 1, the cars and their mechanics, as well as the strategy behind each race. I love every bit of car racing, and I hope to work in motorsports one day.
